Within a minute of my arrival at 3:55 nighthawks were already flying. Should I have started at 3:30? By 4:30 the count was 729.
Then things slowed down at 5:00 and resumed at 6:00 with another flock of over 300. More cross-traffic meant many flocks were "catch-and-release." At 7:00 just a trickle leaked through until 7:30.
Not many raptors but tonight's shorebird was a calling Greater Yellowlegs. We rescued a road-crossing Milk Snake.
Tonight's epicurean repast was taken at Tilton Taco Bell.
