I imagine most people are at the Greater Pewee spot but there are two Baird’s Sandpipers ranging widely around the eastern section of Irvine Lake. They are sometimes with a peep flock and sometimes on their own, but always together. The heat shimmer is getting pretty bad but they vocalize every time they change locations which helps. The peep flock is quite skittish today with the presence of a Loggerhead Shrike and 4 American Kestrels.
Irvine Lake closes at 4:30 and no longer accepts OC Parks passes, as it was sold and is not part of OC Parks. It’s $5 to park.
