We are experiencing a big irruption of Red-breasted nuthatches this summer in the region. They are usually rare in San Francisco, but we’ve been getting daily reports for several weeks here. Multiple birds are being seen on the farralones, outer point Reyes, and even on boats dozens of miles offshore.
