Subject: Warblers in Bucks County PA |
This morning I was surprised to see a Prairie Warbler flitting around the
Hawthorn Tree next to my house.
We had good looks to make the positive ID.
Considering the nice weather, we decided to take a walk at Silver Lake
Nature Center in Bristol Twp in late morning.
We saw one warbler that was moving in the treetops that we were unable to
see well enough to identify.
Shortly after that while sitting on a bench, be noticed a bright yellow
chest on a bird. It was down at ground level, partially hidden behind a
stem.
I could not help noticing the distinct eye ring and the faint necklace on
the bird. Our conclusion was female Canada Warbler.
This evening from the back porch we saw a male Common Yellowthroat Warbler.
Often heard but rarely seen from out yard.
It was not a long list of birds, but all gave us satisfying looks.
Here's to more good birds as fall migration is underway.
