Visitors: 24. Steve Hawk, a veteran hawk counter, visited in hope of late day flight.
Weather: At the North Lookout, blue skies with only a few clouds; visibility 20 miles, temps from 71-81 degrees F with low humidity. Winds Northwest 0-7mph.
Raptor Observations: Non-migrating Osprey early morning, an immature Bald Eagle late afternoon, and Red Tail Hawks through the day. Flight path generally north of the ridge, and also high overhead close to the sun. The birds in the clear blue sky appeared and disappeared in the nearly invisible filaments.
Non-raptor Observations: Common Raven (11); Red-eyed Vireo; Cedar Waxwing(2); American Goldfinch (3); Ruby-throated Hummingbird (2); Black-capped Chickadee; Pine Warbler; Eastern Phoebe.
Eastern Swallowtail (3); Red Spotted Purple Butterfly.
Heard a Great Horned Owl around noon from 2-3 locations, and a Barred Owl.
Predictions: Cloudy, with temps from 60-80 degrees with high humidity. 10-15 miles visibility.
