There is a pair of catbirds who return to my front porch every year. I like to spoil them with fruit. Until about a week ago mom was feeding junior in the branches near my porch. Now I see only one bird at a time and I think it's only one bird, period. It has short tail feathers, so I think it is junior. Is it possible the adults have already fled for the south and the fledgling is still hanging around? Am I perhaps delaying its departure unwisely?
