Subject: [NHBirds] Nighthawk drought over in Sullivan
This evening I had a steady stream of nighthawks flying northeast to southwest while I was doing my evening sheep move. I counted 250 in 15 minutes starting at 6:35. They were already moving when I arrived in the field, so I suspect the total number moving by was significantly higher. The drumlins of my home farm are usually nighthawk repellents -- exactly wrong topography I believe -- so this was by far my high count here. Many of the nighthawks were far to my east, so there may have been more that were too distant to pick up with binoculars. The flight seemed to be roughly following Otter Brook.
