Subject: [NHBirds] 657 Common Nighthawks - Franklin Falls
At long last pure SW winds blew raising high expectations that simply were not met.  During the 4:00 o'clock hour 125 were counted with pretty steady movement until it stopped at 7:00.  The biggest flock  was only 79 (twice).  But I had fresh new recruits to help, namely Merrimack County birders Lynn and Judy, who passed on Concord, got to see plenty of birds up close northbound, and savored their rich, high-end, luxury dark chocolate candy bar.  Later Lori stopped by for a visit.  I welcome all of you.
In Concord, they don't ask "Where's the beef?"  Instead they're saying, "Where's the chocolate?"  It's up here, with the nighthawks.
And now we have Phil Brown racking them up in Hancock and Keene.  I bet they at least get lollipops down there.  The season total here stands at a timid 2,876.
