Subject: [southbaybirds] Bizarre Savannah(?) Sparrow Sighting
Hi all,

Today at my high school, I saw a sparrow that seemed like a Savannah Sparrow on the large grass field typically used for various sports (I like to bird there early before school, LOL). It had a dark crown, dark eye stripe, dark striping on back, wings, and upper breast, light breast, pink legs, and a light colored beak. However, it seemed like a very strange location to see a Savannah Sparrow. Are there any other sparrows it’s more likely to have been? I’ve attached some very low-quality iPhone photos, but they probably won’t be of much help honestly LOL. Thanks in advance!

Happy birding,
Melody Bafetti
