I was just out for an evening walk around Wellington Hill (east side of
Manchester, exit 8 off I-93) and much to my surprise I saw a sizable
number of nighthawks swirling overhead. I've seen individual nighthawks
here a few times, but never a large flock of them. They were going all
different directions -- feeding on an insect hatch? Getting an accurate
count was impossible, but my best guess is somewhere between 50 and 100
birds.
