As is normal at this time of the year here for me ruby-throated hummingbird activity is steady. I'm seeing many adult males and juvenile males along with other young and adult females. The most interesting one for me was one I saw on a recent night about 7 pm. I was on the deck and it flew into a feeder nearby. Its tail was completely white, but I never had the chance to look further at this leucistic hummer because and adult male flew in and chased it. Then, of course, I never saw it again. Other species recently seen in the yard include two juvenile eastern towhees, parula, yellow, black and white, and redstart warblers, an adult male Baltimore oriole, a scarlet tanager in winter plumage, two eastern wood pewees, and both a Cooper's and a red-shouldered hawk.
