A Pectoral Sandpiper found early Friday after the overnight rains is quite uncommon for this county, although some records of the species in the county also predate the eBird era- this one at Randalls Island, just east of Manhattan, and within N.Y. County, which is in N.Y. City. Other shorebirds which have been showing this week also continue, in part.

As for warblers seen just in Central Park on Thursday, 8-20, at least 17 species were present in that one park for the full day, and as seen solely by birders and photographers in not-for-profit guided walks or independently. The migration of Thursday night was good, even if consisting of a lot of flyovers, thru the night up until showers came along.
