I had noticed a sighting of a kestrel in S.C. On the CBC website (from ebird). Then I saw a female kestrel on August 16 along Ridgecrest Road west of Hedgepeth Road. For decades now the first kestrels appear here around August 15. Presumably the same bird was seen by me today, August 18, 2026.
