Migration Is in the Air
One of my favorite birding spectacles is underway: shorebird migration. I love watching sandpipers dance along the coastline. Fall is one of the most exciting seasons for birders. Shorebirds are already on the move and warbler migration is beginning. Enjoy the beauty of this season of change.
This month's articles capture the magic of fall birding. Relive the highlights of last autumn in the Fall 2025: Season Summary<https://joyofbirding.nhaudubon.org/season-summary-fall-2025/> by Ben Griffith, featuring a remarkable Common Cuckoo, only the state's second Trumpeter Swan, the fourth Bell's Vireo, and many other memorable sightings. Then get ready to see what surprises this fall migration has in store.
Joy of Birding is the online home of New Hampshire Bird Records, a publication that has documented New Hampshire's bird sightings, seasons, and birding stories for more than 40 years. The transition from print to online has allowed us to continue sharing the stories of New Hampshire's birds while making them freely available to everyone-from experienced birders to those just beginning to explore the world of birds.
Visit the Joy of Birding (https://joyofbirding.nhaudubon.org/) homepage to explore the latest articles and sign up for our monthly newsletter, featuring new stories, seasonal highlights, and birding news from around the Granite State delivered directly to your inbox.
Happy Birding!
