The article mentions Cooper Island, but it fails to mention George Divoky,
who spent 50 consecutive summers on this sandbar off Utqiagvik studying
climate change, though he wasn't really aware of it when he began. For more
on his work, check out his presentation here:
George predicted this outcome wrt the polar bears. At one point, he had to
be evacuated due to them.
He lives in Seattle.
