Subject: [sbcobirding] COPR August 17
I walked the beach again this morning and did not find a lot of difference from previous trips.  We still don't have any influx of juvenile shorebirds at this location except for  Western and Least Sandpipers.  Totals for individual species remain about the same, though there has been a slight increase in Willets and a decrease in Whimbrels.  Long-billed Curlews and Black-bellied Plovers still duke it out for top spot.
In the tern flock, I had three small terns.  Two were the basic-plumaged Forester's Terns that have been there frequently on past visits.  The third was an adult in breeding plumage that at first I called Forester's but now believe was a Common Tern, based on literature I checked after returning home.
