Just north of St. Louis, two of the greatest rivers on the continent come together. The land where they meet is an ecosystem of national significance, and for generations people have poured themselves into caring for it: landowners, farmers, duck club members, birdwatchers, anglers, volunteers, and conservation partners of every kind.
Ameren Missouri is now evaluating routes for new high-voltage transmission lines as part of its Eastern Missouri Grid Transformation Project. Some of the routes under consideration would open new corridors through the heart of the Confluence east of Highway 79.
Missouri needs a strong, modern electric grid. This coalition agrees, and our request is a reasonable one: route the new lines along existing corridors rather than through a landscape that public agencies, private stewards, and everyday people have spent decades restoring and protecting for future generations.
To make that case, a coalition has prepared a full Environmental Assessment and a Declaration for Responsible Routing. Ameren's project team has confirmed that every submission is reviewed and logged. Your name, added today, becomes part of the official record before a route is chosen.
