Subject: [NHBirds] Ill-tempered warbler day
This morning I was watching a female common yellowthroat perched near a
song sparrow when the warbler started to peck at the sparrow, driving it
off the perch. And then this afternoon, I saw 2 black-and-white warblers
seeming to harass 2 cedar waxwings. The BAWWs kept driving the waxwings
off their perches and dive-bombing them in the air. The first interaction
happened in a cherry tree along my driveway, and the second in the power
line right-of-way nearby. All of this was new behavior to me — was there
some announcement I missed?

Cheers,

Milton Trimitsis
