Subject: [Tweeters] Fall Migration is in progress (Skagit version)
Hi,

I saw a grosbeak, a chickadee, and a nuthatch at our fountain
yesterday.  Of those 3 the
nuthatch is the least likely/least frequent visitor here in our yard.
I have not been out to 'survey' the shorebirds here recently.

I may have reported this before - but in case I didn't ... I went to
Reifel about 10 days
ago and it was the least birdy visit I've ever experienced there.
Notable misses were
Sandhill cranes and wood ducks which are both species I sort of "rely
upon" at Reifel.

I rarely go out that I don't post at least one checklist on eBird.
For locations such as
Reifel what I typically do is to start a checklist when I get there, run
it for the hike
out to the furthest point, stop/post it, and start another checklist for
the hike back
to my car.
eBird -often- doesn't record the 'track' of where I've been and
instead wants me to
select a location based upon the actual time I'm posting ... I can't
figure out when it
will record a track and when it doesn't.  Probably has something to do
with whether
or not my phone has gone into sleep mode during the hike ... ???
                                                          - Jim in Skagit
