I have a haiku box and so get at least somewhat reliable info about birds
on my place. It's in oak savannah at 5000' on the east side of the
Huachucas. I always have elf owls around during the season, but the season
was over locally about the last week in July. I think not coincidentally
the plague of field crickets that I get every year petered out at just
about the same time. Hoards going to near zero in just a couple of weeks.
Spring Field Crickets. Anyone know the whole story on this? I have just
the observation.
