A juvenile Purple Gallinule was photographed on Pond C of the San Joaquin Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine today, first in the morning around 9:30am and again in the evening around 5pm. If accepted by the CBRC this would be the first record for Orange County (and its 509th species) and the 8th for California.
