Observation start time: 09:00:00 Observation end time: 14:00:00 Total observation time: 5 hours
Official Counter: Bridget Watts
Observers: Art Tanghe, Chuck Stiles
Weather: Cloudy to start, with almost no cloud cover by mid afternoon. Moderate winds mostly WNW, swinging around to WSW for a while and then back to WNW.
Raptor Observations: For most of the count, the flight was over the park, with birds mostly high and streaming by rapidly, and scattered across the sky, often popping into view only when they were almost over us, making counting challenging. The 12-1 EST hour began and ended with a Broad-winged hawk circling cooperatively low overhead, giving great views. The last few hawks seen were going by inland, passing behind the hedgerow.
Non-raptor Observations: The usual gang of three Ospreys was fishing the bay and hanging around.
Predictions: Mostly sunny skies. Warm. Winds W to NNW at 5 to 10 mph, so somewhat less favorable than today. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Bridget Watts (<wattsbridget7...>) Braddock Bay information may be found at: http://www.bbrr.org/
