Subject: [southbaybirds] Vasona migrants
This morning I found a birdy area in Vasona near a bench on the east
side of the creek. These birds were apparently mobbing something and
were very active. I had 7 Hooded Orioles, most females, bushtits, a
Wilson's Warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler, Chickadees and Songs Sparrows.
Eventually a Red-shouldered Hawk revealed itself and the show was over.

I had returned to Vasona to photograph what I believe to be a Wood Rat
nest at an unusual height. The 3' nest was 20' up in a willow thicket on
the west side of the creek, south of the pedestrian bridge. There was
another Wood Rat nest at the base of the same tree. photos attached.
