Dear Fellow bird lovers, This a late post, and I was late getting to Hi Lonesome this last Sunday morning. The birds had already begun getting quiet, and the species number was down. However, there were enough birds to keep me interested, and there were so many other things to please the eye. There is a nice variety of flowers blooming. A complete species list is on eBird. One of my current favorites is the Sedge Wren. The cap to the morning was given by an American Kestrel that flew over, kited for a bit and then cooperatively perched on the wire allowing good looks.
I could be wrong, but I believe some of the birds have begun migrating south. I'll go earlier next time.
Happy Birding!! Marge Lumpe Benton County
