The Swallow-tailed Kite first reported by Lisa Safell was viewed from the loop road the runs along the side of Pool 10, heading toward Pools 14 & 15. It was soaring close to the bluffs at about 4:20-4:30 The Anhinga was resting (gular pouch vibrating heavily in the heat), standing on the north bank among a small patch of mallow in front of short trees, along the ditch that connects the Distribution Channel with the ditch at the near end Pool 14 cul-de-sac.
