Subject: [ia-bird] Shorebirds in Ames
Coming west out of Ames this afternoon, I noticed some geese and several
small shorebirds in a flooded pond on the south side of Lincoln Way. So I
turned in and started searching the pond to find all of the following:

Killdeer ~20
Semi-palmated Plover 3 (photo with this note)
Baird's Sandpiper 1
Least Sandpiper ~7
Pectoral Sandpiper 4
Solitary Sandpiper 1

Fall shorebird migration is definitely underway!
