I birded close to home today on the Guadalupe Creek trail along Sycamore
Creek. Three Black-chinned Hummingbirds, likely a family, were
interacting near marker 2.75. I found two more female type near the end
of the trail across from Thyme Creek. This marked my seventeenth
Black-chinned found this year. Others were found at Almaden Lake, a
nesting bird, Calero Creek trail, a nesting bird, Alamitos Creek trail
pedestrian bridge, a nesting bird, and Alamitos Creek trail. I saw only
three males this season, one on Calero Creek trail, one at Almaden Lake
and yesterday I found a male at Vasona.
Aug. 7, I photographed a Common Gallinule on the first pond east of
Meridian. see attachment
