Twice this week a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher has been spotted gleaning tiny insects in my unstructured, mostly-native garden. Today it was an all-you-can-eat buffet of Rose Sawfly larvae on my climbing roses. I leave the chemicals on the store shelves and the pruning shears to get rusty.
