I'm enjoying reading all the posts about the anhinga since I am not able to
get up there to see it myself. However, it does bring to my mind the day in
September of 2009 that my husband and I were sitting outside our store
enjoying the fall weather when we saw a bird flying in from the north-west.
The bird changed from... crow? To... accipiter? To, no it's a cormorant?
Until it got almost overhead and we shouted to each other "that's an
anhinga!!"
Not sure where it came from or where it was going, but it was a wonderful
example of being in the right place at the right time.
