Subadult but mostly in adult plumage. Orangeish bill and white central tail feathers. Insanely close pass as it flew alongside the boat as we approached the island."

Flew into the trees above the picnic tables by the base of the pier and rested for a few minutes before flying off. Was able to see the graduated tail feathers and more prominent orbital ridge giving it an “angry” expression to rule out Sharp-shinned Hawk. Will post photos."
