Folks, just a note that at least two out of three sightings of the
frigatebird; both the eBird submission from yesterday on August 5th, and
the photographs submitted to the CBRC from August 1 and 2, were all taken
from sometime around 7:30 in the evening in or near Rainbow Bay.
Frigatebirds can soar quite high during the day with good thermals, even
when not actively traveling long distances, and will hang out quite low
over their roosting site before landing for the night.
For anyone in the area in the next few days, I would still keep an eye out
for a frigatebird in Rainbow Bay after 7 pm, just in case.
