A warm and hearty "Thanks," to everyone who made suggestions about preventing window strikes! It' s one of the many nice things about this List!!!
We ended up installing white translucent leaf-shaped decals every 8 - 10 inches on the glass panels. We haven't had a strike (that we have encountered), so let's hope this works!!!
On the larger scale, we just drove through Philly on the way back from NJ shore, and it is tragic to see the number of shy-blue glass buildings, looking exactly like the sky!!!! Beautiful but HORRIBLE!
It s estimated a BILLION (with a "B") birds tragically die in collisions of this kind!!!! Add to that, the lights at night during migration disorienting them, and it;s a wonder anything survives the annual migration these days.
Woe be to nature.. We'll soon be left with nothing but Norway rats, cockroaches and Starlings!
