For the last week, a male Hairy woodpecker has been hanging around in my backyard. I have kept a backyard burdlist for 46 years and this is the first time this species has shown up here in south Palo Alto.
Do not disclose information that identifies the location of nesting birds of any species, to minimize stress on the nesting birds and the risk of vandalism or abuse.
