Yesterday I wrote asking for contacts for reporting a color-banded Snowy Plover that I photographed at Ocean Beach yesterday morning. Thank you to all who suggested contact information, and to Parker Kaye for his rapid response to my query. The bird was banded as a chick last year at Limantour Spit. It then overwintered on Brooks Island, and was observed in Humboldt County this year during the breeding season, before returning to the Bay Area. I contacted someone who is working on Snowy Plovers in Humboldt, and will let everyone know if I Iearn anything else about the bird.
