Subject: [NHBirds] Plaice Cove
Large group of shorebirds flew in this afternoon around 230. Difficult to get an accurate count but a very rough estimate is between 300 and 400 individuals. Group consisted of Semipalmated Sandipiper (60-65 %) and Semipalmated Plover.
Spotted Sandpiper 1
Note: With binoculars, I noticed a red structure in the upper portion of its right wing but the Spotted flew off as I tried to get a scope view. Wondering if it might be a geolocator or some other tag?
