Subject: Spoonbill and Other Treats at Bald Knob NWR
One of our favorite birds, the juvenile Roseate Spoonbill continues in Cell 2 at the refuge. It was seen resting and lingering in Cell 2.
Other delights:
DUCKS Wood Duck with babiesBlack-bellied Whistling Ducks
WADERSThree dark ibis with at least two being Glossy IbisNumerous White Ibis, mostly juveniles
SHOREBIRDSBlack-necked Stilts and others ncluding Short-billed Dowitchers, Stilt Sandpipers, both Yellowlegs, Pectoral Sandpiper, Least and Semipalmated Sandpipers, Spotted and Solitary Sandpipers, and lots of Killdeer.
A single and beautiful Black Tern along with numerous sqallows.
A cooler breeze helps.
