Still a nice assortment of shorebirds present this morning. Black-bellied Plovers are gathering in groups--I counted 63 together in just one group today, with many others scattered along the beach. A Black Turnstone was present this morning--third individual I've had at this location so far this season, but none have ever stayed more than 1-2 days. There were two Forester's terns in the tern flock today. One was obviously that species; the other was a little tricker as the head molt was just starting and it appeared there might be a faint dark carpal bar. However, I conferred with Armando who got good photos of it today and we agreed that it was a Forster's Tern.
