Thanks for the warning! A couple falls ago, our GPS indicated it as a county road, and as we were visiting from Montreal, naively trusted it! Fortunately, we were in a high clearance 4x4 SUV and I had some prior experience on rough roads and we managed to get down without incident. But my wife was less than thrilled with the experience, and not at all comfortable with the steep drop offs and switchbacks. Slowly and cautiously were the only viable options. It wasn’t the first, nor the last time a GPS led us to what became astray, (we also have had issues on “roads” in Florida, Arizona, and Texas,) but those darn local birds always turned the inconveniences just one more chapter for our tales of adventures in birding!
