I checked the area last evening and was surprised at how much the water level had dropped since Sunday. As a result, the Egrets have spread out along the perimeter of almost the entire wetland. I did not try to count them but did san the flocks to see if there might be any species other than Snowy and Great Egrets present.
The shorebird population had changed a little, with about the same number of Stilts, Greater Yellowlegs, and Dowitchers present as I found on Sunday. The single Lesser Yellowlegs was also present. New arrivals included 2 Wilson's Phalaropes and 3 Least Sandpipers.
