I had read the obituary for Guy Tudor in the NYT, but did not yet know that Guy McCaskie was gone, too. Two very special guys, for sure. I got to work with Guy T. a bit when I lived in NYC and was active at both The Linnaean Society and at the former American Birds at National Audubon. I also got to meet and bird with Guy McC courtesy of National Audubon and ABA. My favorite experience with McCaskie was at Niagara Falls in the winter, looking at hundreds of gulls soaring over the falls at an ABA event. I was a pretty green birder, but his tutelage helped bring so much into focus so quickly, and gave me new ways of seeing and differentiating gulls. Both men were generous in their time and expertise. RIP Guys
