Adding to all the shorebirds out at Don Edwards, Nathan Malick also photographed an unusual peep yesterday in the Don Edwards area. His pics are here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S376752035
As far as I know the ID is still under discussion, but both Little Stint and Semipalmated Sandpiper are being discussed. I am not sure if this peep is a different bird from the ones Garrett had today, or if it is one of those two birds. For anyone going out there it is definitely worth checking any unusual peep there carefully and obtaining photos.
Do not disclose information that identifies the location of nesting birds of any species, to minimize stress on the nesting birds and the risk of vandalism or abuse.
