Saturday mid morning the sky above our yard was filled with chittering Tree Swallows. They spent most of the day zooming around and calling to each other. Where I sat on my deck, I was not aware of any insects. In fact sadly there have been very few insects around. This behavior repeated again on Sunday.
At the same time a Red Tailed Hawk youngster spent the day circling around our area (where I am sure his nest had been) calling relentlessly for FOOD ! He was joined by his sibling on Sunday. They are both out there again today making a very pitiful racket, and for good reason as both parents made food deliveries yesterday. That was a noisy event!
