- Comments: "(34.4178027, -119.8291650) perched among a bunch of DCCOs. Immediately stood out as small, slender, and long tailed. Watched for quite a while as it sat with DCCOs, fished in the water, and was harassed by DCCO. Seen from several angles. No white around yellow gape, which was limited to just below the bill, none above. The pointedness of the gular skin didn’t stand out to me, but it was somewhat hard to tell at the distance I was seeing it at. Many digibins. My mom independently picked it out and commented on its slender shape and small appearance as well as its “more sleek/dark feathers” without knowing these as field marks for NECO."
