Rye Harbor this morning- here are my notes
Non breeding plumage. Darkish brown bill; lacking any gonydeal angle rules out laughing gull. Gray mantle. Dark ear spot and smudgy above eye, seemed to cross over head. Chocolate brown legs when the sun shone; looked dark or black when cloudy. Clear retrices. No windows in dark primary tips. Single bird with peep, picking at gravel sand bar. Too large for Bonapartes….
