Hi All,
Yesterday a Peregrine falcon was seen standing on the bluffs at Pelican
Bluffs by Loch Michie.
On Saturday at the Gualala River a group of local photographers including
Ron Bolander spotted a Long-billed Dowitcher still in breeding plumage. And
a beautiful Green heron.
Last week Tuesday, the Osprey chick fledged from the nest I watch through
a spotting scope in Anchor Bay. There was only the one chick this year.
The Violet-green swallows that were nesting in a box under a high eve at
my house in Anchor Bay, fledged four days before the Osprey chick.
As I wrote in my Mendonoma Sightings column last week, I have empty nest
syndrome. I miss them!
