Subject: [NHBirds] More early migration
Greetings all,

On my weekly five-mile survey in the south end of Concord this morning I
had a couple of signs of early dispersing songbirds. First was a juvenile
Bobolink in a field where I do not think they bred, but the far bigger
surprise was a singing Black-throated Green Warbler in residential shade
trees near the Abbott-Downing elementary school. Today is roughly two
months since the last time I saw this species during migration. Last
weekend I had a Louisiana Waterthrush under similar circumstances, although
the stream where it was could be breeding habitat now and then.

At the same time, several breeding species are getting quiet, including
yellow warblers, Baltimore Orioles, and Wood Thrush. Even Red-eyed Vireo
was represented by only a single individual this morning.

Good bird to all,
Pam Hunt, Concord
