FYI, two birding sites in southeastern CO are no longer available due to changes is private owner lease arrangements with CO Parks and Wildlife. These are Thurston Reservoir north of Lamar and Blue Lake (aka Adobe Creek Res) north of Las Animas. Many wonderful birds have been observed at these sites over the years. Loss of access to these precious water resources is probably just the beginning of similar changes we will experience elsewhere.
Like the passing of Hugh, it is hard to say good-bye to old "friends".
