The snow white pigeon I mistakenly (and embarrassingly) reported as an owl at the end of last week is still hanging around the grounds of my retirement community. It has adopted our inner garden as its home, and it perches on balcony rails, the edge of the roof, or the top of a small pergola near the lawn. I suspect that the bird is an escape of some sort - it doesn't seem to notice the residents unless they get too close, and it clearly isn't a member of the local pigeon flock. Does anyone know of anyplace I can find out if any local pigeon handler or breeder has a missing snow white bird? I suspect that "Snow White" would be happier with companion pigeons, would have a source of better quality food, and would be safer (we do get a few local feral cats on the grounds) back in whatever pigeon loft it escaped from.
