Highlights in this Dispatch include the latest tools we’re using to improve the data collection process: Code Check, and the new, updated version of Blockboard (now much more mobile-friendly!) Definitely worth a read.
If there’s one thing I’d like to ask folks to understand, it’s this: if you’re submitting eBird checklists with breeding codes, but aren’t signed in with an Atlas Checklist, that data will not be added until the very end of the project, about 4.5 years from now. We will lack the information of those non-Atlas breeding records as we try to figure out which species are unconfirmed and which Atlas blocks are under-birded! So please, if you’re finding these breeding behaviors in the field, take a moment to make sure you are logged in and submitting to the data… FOR SCIENCE!
Thanks to all of those who have been putting in so much work for the project. Stay tuned for more updates!
Bird on,
