While scanning the landscape at Shell Beach for the Shorebird Survey, one of us found a pair of Black Oysercatchers with a chick. Not a common sight, I think. They were on the stoneface of a cliff a short way above the waterline. Location: bluffs below the Inn at the Cove, 2651 Price St, Pismo Beach.
I have a video taken by Layla Solomon. I'll try to post it on eBird, but I'm afraid I'm not at all familiar with how to do so.
